Archivo Histórico Provincial de Cádiz
Cadiz, one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, has a fascinating history – and this is the place to document it. From the 1500s on, its collection of notarial records tells the story of the city’s residents: in addition to its natives one finds English merchants, exiled French nobles and even Hungarians who served in the Habsburg armies then resettled to Spain. All of these groups left a genealogical legacy enduring in Cadiz’s people and their descendants. I have many years of experience with its records, both on paper and in digital form. Contact me to discuss possible research there.
