This archive currently shares space with another, the Regional Archive of Madrid, although a move to a new facility is in the works. The AHPM preserves centuries of notarial records produced in Spain’s capital as well as those recorded by many Spanish consuls overseas in their capacity as consular notaries. A catalogue of testators provides an invaluable finding aid for genealogy. Contact me to discuss possible research there.
