Archivo Histórico Diocesano de Mondoñedo-Ferrol
Mondoñedo, a charming town nestled in a valley and surrounded by dense forests, hosts this archive which stores parish registers for an area straddling the civil provinces of Lugo and La Coruña. For many parishes, the earliest registers (say, before 1650) show signs of water damage, but in the course of many years conducting research there I have successfully traced dozens of families back through several generations.
